Programs and Events

December 4 – Committee meetings.

NEWS AND NOTES

Meeting notes: Our guest this week was Chris Meagher, a former Kiwanian and former Lt. Governor, who may be interested in joining the Wauwatosa club. Make sure you greet Chris and introduce yourself.

Our speaker, invited by Don Nordholm, was Ellen Van Cleeve, who just returned from two years in the Peace Corps, serving in Togo. Her impressive and inspiring stories were about teaching girls to play soccer, encouraging them to attend high school, showing them a computer, introducing wellness concepts, and making friends for the USA as a consequence.

Happy bucks came in for Rube Ziehlsdorf, for his recent birthday; from Ken Snyder, looking forward to running a half marathon in Las Vegas this weekend with 45,000 other runners raising funds to fight cystic fibrosis; and from John Foley, for a Thanksgiving with his sons in Texas.

Thanks: Bob Gross read a letter from the Tosa School Board thanking the Club for supporting Project Lead the Way.

Community support: Bob Gross suggested that we can all have a good time while attending the C of C's Holiday After 5 even on December 5 at the Lions Clubhouse. Admission is $5 or donation of a toy for charity.

Distinguished Citizen nominations: It's that time of year again. Bob Reinhardt and Andy Barnes are on the committee. Let them know if you want to nominate someone.

Beer & Wine Tasting: Get money to Eli Potkonjak. Bob wants to finalize the number by next week.

Meetings: Tuesday noon, Mayfair Mall Community Room
