Massage Envy Spa opens its doors on busiest retail day of year

Nov. 29, 2012

Tina Beckett made the gutsy move of opening the doors of her new Massage Envy Spa on the busiest shopping day of the year: Black Friday, on November 23rd. Professional, licensed massage therapists and estheticians were on hand to treat customers to the benefits of massage at a time when they need it most. Many people are stressed and over committed during the busy Holiday season, and with the approach of cold weather.
Beckett points out that harsh weather is hard on our bodies, and it’s never too late to take care of yourself. Massage Envy Spa offers a variety of massage types, including trigger point therapy, Swedish, deep tissue, sports, reflexology, its signature service, Hot Stone Envy™ and more. Several different facials are also offered, ideal for anyone with acne, inflamed or irritated skin, or excessive exposure to prolonged sun or cold climates.
Beckett is poised for success in her new venture with an extensive corporate background in supplier diversity and procurement contracts, and entrepreneurial ventures in organizational management and strategic services, as well as a previous facial business. She’s coached small business owners for many years, and holds a degree in Biology, as well as an MBA. “I’ve always been fascinated with the magnificence of our bodies and how important it is for us to take care of ourselves,” said Beckett.

Beckett’s new franchise in Whitefish Bay, WI will be the latest of over 800 Massage Envy Spa franchises nationwide. The Massage Envy membership model created a completely new category in the wellness industry. The Scottsdale, Arizona based Massage Envy franchise which launched in 2002, is one of the country's fastest growing wellness brands and offers franchisees a day spa business plan that has seen incredible success.

Entrepreneur Magazine listed Massage Envy as a Fastest Growing Franchise in 2012.
The new business operation will be located near Bayshore Towne Center at 109 E. Silver Spring Drive on the well-known commercial strip. The state-of-the-art spa will feature 4,000-square-feet of space, 13 massage therapy and facial rooms, and member relaxation areas.

Massage Envy Spa’s hours are suitable for shoppers who are out making their gift selections throughout the upcoming busy weeks. Day or evening hours are available. The new Massage Envy Spa is open Monday – Friday from 8 a.m. – 10 p.m., 8 a.m. – 6 p.m. on Saturdays, and on Sundays from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.

“Why not combine a gift card purchase for a friend or loved one, with your own spa visit to get relief from tired muscles?” asks Beckett. “Many studies are suggesting the multiple benefits of regular massage therapy. I look forward to helping our client focus on their overall wellness.” The National Center for Complementary Medicine found that deep tissue massage led to a drop in blood pressure after just a single session and a noticeable mood boost.

Massage Envy Spa Introductory rates are $49 for a one-hour massage, and $59 for a one-hour Murad® Healthy Skin facial. Discounts are available for military personnel. Membership allows for customized massage every month, discounted rates for members on additional services, family memberships, retail discounts, and opportunities to upgrade services and add on facials.
