1A 43-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for operating a motor vehicle without the owner's consent in the 9200 block of Interstate 43 at 2 p.m. Nov. 9. The man told one officer he "gave somebody some drugs" to get the car but didn't know it was stolen. He told another officer he had "rented" the car for three hours for $20 from a man at 28th Street and Lisbon Avenue and had driven to Brown Deer to look for a girl. The car had been stolen from the 2300 block of West Brown Street and the owner, who was notified, picked up his car after paying the towing fee. On Nov. 11, an assistant district attorney did not process the case stating there was not enough evidence to charge the suspect.
2A 25-year-old Pewaukee man was arrested for drunken driving and unsafe lane deviation after he was found sleeping in a car sitting in a patch of trees at Donges Bay Road and Lake Drive at 6 a.m. Nov. 10. When an officer knocked on his window he waved him away but when he realized it was the police, he opened the door saying he was on his way to Pewaukee and could not believe he was in Bayside. He was taken for a blood draw.

A man, age and residence not available, was arrested for disorderly conduct/domestic at 6:45 p.m. Nov. 4. The man called police from a balcony when the resident, a woman, would not let him back inside. Police knocked on her door but she didn't respond. The man crawled down off the balcony and admitted he had pushed the woman's arm and that's when she locked him on the balcony. He also said she had slapped him in the face Friday night at a bar.
3A smartphone, value not listed, was reported missing from the YMCA Daycare, 217 W. Dunwood Road, the morning of Nov. 8. The owner had gone to the day care to take photographs and when she left she left the phone under some equipment. Using GPS, the phone was traced back to that address but it could not be located there.
4A mailbox was damaged in the 6700 block of North Yates Road during the day Nov. 8. Damage was $150.
5A female employee, age and residence not available, was arrested and charged for ID theft/fraudulent use of credit cards at her employer, Best Buy, 8755 N. Port Washington Road, at 5 p.m. Nov. 5. The woman used stolen credit cards to purchase two gift cards at $200 each and products valued at more than $650. She admitted the fraud.
6An 18-year-old woman and a 20-year-old man, both of Milwaukee, were arrested for possession of marijuana after a report of them smoking the drug outside Applebee's at Bayshore Town Center, 575 W. Glen Bay Ave., at 6 p.m. Oct. 31. The couple, after smoking a blunt, went into the restaurant. When police went to their table, there was a strong odor of marijuana. The couple admitted smoking the drug saying they couldn't understand why "it was such a big deal." A blunt weighing 0.3 grams was confiscated.
7A 28-year-old Sheboygan woman was arrested for theft of items valued at $565 from Kohl's, 5650 N. Bayshore Drive, at 4:40 p.m. Nov. 2. The woman was seen taking jewelry and men's and women's clothes into a fitting room along with a number of shopping bags. She left with the bags filled and an almost empty fitting room. She told police she was "sorry" for taking the items saying she had an "uncontrollable shopping addiction."
8A 36-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested for theft of items valued at more than $700 from Pick 'n Save, 6969 N. Port Washington Road, at 6:35 p.m. Nov. 2. An employee said he noticed the woman shopping "in a strange manner" filling the cart with all kinds of items and leaving the store. When stopped outside, the woman said she wasn't leaving, just looking to see if her friend had come to pick her up. She later admitted taking the items.
9Two 17-year-old Shorewood boys were arrested for possession of marijuana when they were found on the train trestle in the 5300 block of North Edgewater Lane at 3:30 p.m. Nov. 3. One boy said he was going to take photos of the graffiti for a class project. However, during the time the officer saw the boys on the trestle none took a photo. More than an ounce of marijuana was found in the boys' backpacks. A marijuana pipe and a half-full bottle of alcohol were also found in their possession.
10Tools valued at $1,400 including three welders and a socket set were taken from the 1600 block of West Green Tree Road during the day Nov. 3. Entry might have been gained through a garage door.
11A 37-year-old Glendale man was arrested for disorderly conduct after causing a disturbance at Nicolet High School, 6701 N. Jean Nicolet Road, at 3:30 p.m. Nov. 7. The man became angry after his son was cut from the basketball team. He went to the school and demanded to see the coach, who was in a meeting, and he was told to make an appointment but instead went to the meeting room and yelled and swore. He was arrested at his home and apologized for his reaction saying this would be a teaching tool for his son on "how not to go about things."
12A 48-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for drunken driving, with two prior convictions, driving after revocation, with a prior conviction, and refusal to take a breath test after he refused to leave a private parking lot in the 6800 block of North Green Bay Avenue at 10:40 a.m. Nov. 8. When the man got out of his car, his pants were wet with urine and he was exposing himself. His words were slurred and he made threats to officers. He was taken for a blood draw.
13An 18-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for drunken driving, driving while suspended, open intoxicants and warned for speeding 50 mph in a 35 mph zone in the 1800 block of West Brown Deer Road at 9:40 p.m. Nov. 7. The man sped past a squad car and when stopped denied drinking but admitted "smoking weed" about 10 minutes before. After failing the first two field sobriety tests, he refused to take any more and then refused to take a breath test. He was taken for a blood draw and a citation for underage drinking is pending.
14A 23-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for drunken driving and warned for lane deviation in the 1700 block of East Capitol Drive at 2:48 a.m. Nov. 2. He refused to take field sobriety tests and had a BAC of 0.24.
15A 24-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for prowling in the 4100 block of North Prospect Avenue at 2:25 p.m. Nov. 2. He was found with an I-Pass taken from a car in the same block.
16A 2010 Toyota Highlander valued at $22,000 was taken from a driveway in the 4400 block of North Lake Drive on Nov. 2 or 3.
17A car was entered but nothing taken in the 1600 block of East Lake Bluff Boulevard on Nov. 3 or 4.
18A detached garage had minor damage after being hit by a vehicle in the 4100 block of North Ardmore Avenue on Nov. 3 or 4. The amount of damage was not available.
19A $600 bicycle was taken from a yard in the 4200 block of North Lake Drive on Nov. 3 or 4.
20A digital media player valued at $80, a $30 coin purse and change were taken from a car in the 4200 block of North Maryland Avenue on Nov. 4 or 5.
21A digital media player and a GPS unit both valued at $200 were taken from a car in the 4100 block of North Murray Avenue on Nov. 4 or 5.
22A 54-year-old Shorewood woman was cited for disorderly conduct/disturbing the peace after she yelled and pounded on a neighbor's door in the 1800 block of East Kenmore Place at 2:20 a.m. Nov. 6.
23A 37-year-old man, residence not known, was taken to Milwaukee County Mental Health Complex after found inside a home in the 3500 block of North Lake Drive at 5 p.m. Nov. 8. The man told police he lived in that home.
24A platinum and diamond ring valued at $5995 was taken from Thiet Jewelers, 513 E. Silver Spring Drive, about 2:15 p.m. Nov. 2. Police were called just after the theft was discovered. The suspects are two white couples in their 50s who spread out in the store and distracted a clerk who inadvertently left a display case open. Two couples, matching the description, had visited another jewelry store in the area.
25A resident reported a hit and run after finding her car damaged in the 800 block of East Glen Avenue on Nov. 7 or 8. A note was left with a phone number but that number came back as no longer in service. The amount of damage was not listed.
26A 26-year-old Whitefish Bay man was arrested for disorderly conduct and an Ozaukee County warrant after punching out a front window of a relative's home and screaming in the 100 block of East Henry Clay Street at 8:45 p.m. Nov. 8.
27A pizza delivery man reported his car was stolen from the 500 block of East Henry Clay Street at 8 p.m. Nov. 9. It was recovered a short time later a block away. Nothing was taken.
28A 20-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for loitering/prowling, receiving stolen property and theft after found inside a car in the 4800 block of North Elkhart Avenue at 11:55 p.m. Nov. 9.
29A $500, 21-speed mountain bike was taken from the 5700 block of North Bay Ridge Avenue early afternoon Nov. 10. It was recovered later that afternoon two blocks away.
About a dozen cars were entered in the 5400, 5500, 5700, 6000 and 6100 blocks of North Bay Ridge Avenue and the 6100 block of North Kent Avenue on Nov. 9, 10 or 11. A flip phone, keys and flash drives valued at more than $100 were taken from one car, keys and a camera valued at $350 from another and a wallet and purse valued at $500 from another. In the other entries small amounts of change were taken. There was no damage reported.
NORTH SHORE FIRE DEPARTMENT
Firefighters responded to 115 calls, 84 emergency medical and 31 fire/rescue, Nov. 5 to Nov. 11.
30Six people were trapped in an elevator stalled between the basement and the first floor at Johnson Controls, 5757 N. Green Bay Ave., Glendale, at 7:10 p.m. Nov. 9. The outer door was forced opened by firefighters and an elevator repair company was called to open the inner door. The occupants were freed after about 30 minutes and no injuries were reported.
31A car's engine was reported on fire in the 9200 block of North Green Bay Road, Brown Deer, at 9:50 a.m. Nov. 11. The fire was extinguished but the engine had major damage. The driver said she noticed a burning odor as she drove the car.
