Police Report: Dec. 17

BAYSIDE

1A 61-year-old Bayside man was arrested for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia after a 911 call saying a man might be having a stroke in the 300 block of West Manor Lane at 12:30 a.m. Dec. 8. When police and paramedics arrived it was determined the man was not having a stroke but there was an odor of burning marijuana in the home and a green leafy substance was found on the kitchen counter A pipe, two marijuana cigarettes, rolling papers and two bags holding 5.8 grams of marijuana were confiscated. The man admitted he had smoked marijuana and drank alcohol.

BROWN DEER

2Three Milwaukee females, 16, 21 and 23, were arrested for theft from Old Navy, 9094 N. Green Bay Road, at 6 p.m. Nov. 27. They were seen filling purses with shirts, jeans and other items valued at $432 leaving the store and then attempting to drive away. They were stopped and the items recovered.

3A 34-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for drunken driving, refusal to take a breath test, failure to have insurance and speeding 60 mph in a 40 mph zone in the 5200 block of West Brown Deer Road at 3:15 a.m. Dec. 1. When police told him he was speeding, he said he thought he was "going like 44." The officer said no, he was "going like 60." The man failed field tests and had a preliminary blood alcohol content of 0.141.

4An unloaded 0.9 mm gun was reported taken from a purse in the 4800 block of North Rivers Edge Circle at 2 p.m. Dec. 6. The case is under investigation.

5A 33-year-old Milwaukee man was a suspect in disorderly conduct/domestic violence related after a report of him threatening a woman as they rode a county bus in the 9500 block of North Green Bay Road at 7 p.m. Dec. 7. The bus driver had called police and reported the man, who denied the allegations. The case is under investigation.

6A 21-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for drunken driving, driving while suspended, failure to wear a seat belt and failure to stop at a sign in the 8600 block of North 60th Street at 1 a.m. Dec. 8. The man, who said he didn't stop because he was in a hurry, admitted drinking four or five beers and had a BAC of 0.10.

A 23-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for battery and strangulation both domestic violence related after he pushed, punched and choked a 17-year-old girl, the mother of their 18-month old child at 2:40 p.m. Dec. 10. The man told the victim if she disrespected him, "I'm going to do you like my dad did my mom." He fled the scene but was reached by phone and told to come to the police department. He said he would but didn't and after he failed to appear for a charging conference, a felony warrant was issued for his arrest Dec. 11.

FOX POINT

7Three electronic tablets valued at $1,800 were taken over two days from Best Buy, 8755 N. Port Washington Road, from Dec. 9 and 11. The same suspect in this theft was linked to a theft or an attempted theft at a Best Buy in the town of Brookfield on Dec. 16.

GLENDALE

8A 47-year-old Fox Point man was arrested for drunken driving, with a prior conviction, and refusal to take a breath test after he was seen driving in the wrong lane in the 6100 block of North Port Washington Road at 12:30 a.m. Dec. 7. The man admitted having "too many" drinks.

9A wallet and contents was taken from a purse at Bayshore's Food Court, 5800 N. Bayshore Drive, between 1 and 2:30 p.m. Dec. 7. One of the stolen credit cards was used twice to buy electronics and other items valued at more than $1,000 at a Milwaukee Target.

10A resident reported the theft of jewelry valued at more than $3,000 from the 7200 block of North Pierron Road at 11 a.m. Dec. 8. The resident said that about a month ago she noticed an earring missing but thought she had misplaced it. A few weeks later, she discovered other pieces missing and called police.

11Two generators valued at $350 each were taken from a work trailer in the 4200 block of North Port Washington Road on Dec. 7 to 11. Damage to that trailer was $1,500.

12A 29-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for credit card fraud and unauthorized use of another person's ID after attempting to purchase items valued at more than $500 using a fake Discover Card at Boston Store, 5701 N. Lydell Ave., at 4:15 p.m. Dec. 8. When the card was rejected, the man fled the store. The name on the card belonged to a Utah man.

13Four males, ages 16 to 19, residences not available, were arrested for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia after the report of suspicious activity in a car in the 5300 block of North Mohawk Avenue at 6 p.m. Dec. 10. The car was filled with smoke with an "extreme" odor of marijuana. The males all admitted smoking the drug but denied ownership of the three pipes and 1.4 grams of marijuana found in the car.

14The 2009 Toyota Corolla stolen during a burglary in the 2600 block of West Como Place on Nov. 1 was recovered in the rear of a residence in the 1100 block of North 18th Street on Dec. 12. A woman there told police she purchased the car for $2,500 from a white male after seeing it advertised for sale on Craigslist.

15A 60-year-old woman, residence not available, was arrested for possession of marijuana and theft at Pick 'n Save, 1735 W. Silver Spring Drive, at 1:40 p.m. Dec. 12. The woman was seen taking "hot deli" food and deodorant. She left the store but was stopped and when searched a corner cut plastic bag with 1 gram of marijuana was found in her pants pocket. The woman said the drugs must belong to her daughter because she was wearing her daughter's pants.

16A 20-year-old woman, residence not available, was arrested for theft of jewelry and clothing valued at more than $500 from Kohl's, 5650 N. Bayshore Drive, at 6:15 p.m. Dec. 12. She told police taking the items was a "stupid mistake."

RIVER HILLS

SHOREWOOD

17A $200 GPS unit, wallet and various credit cards were taken from an unsecured car in the 4300 block of North Wilson Drive on Dec. 5 or 6.

18A 21-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for being found intoxicated behind the wheel of a car after a welfare check in the 2200 block of East Edgewood Avenue at 11:40 p.m. Dec. 7.

19A 23-year-old Shorewood man was arrested for drunken driving and refusal to take a breath test after being stopped for driving without lights in the 1300 block of East Capitol Drive about 12 a.m. Dec. 8. He failed field sobriety tests and had a preliminary BAC of 0.18.

20A man and woman, both 25 of Milwaukee, were arrested for possession of marijuana and open intoxicants after the car the woman was driving was stopped for speeding 38 mph in a 25 mph zone in the 3600 block of North Oakland Avenue at 8 p.m. Dec. 8. The woman was also cited for driving after revocation and unauthorized registration. Marijuana residue and a blunt were found in the car along with an open bottle of vodka.

21A 29-year-old Shorewood man was arrested for drunken driving after slamming into a light pole and knocking it over causing major damage to his car and injury to himself at Farwell Avenue and Kensington Boulevard at 4:10 a.m. Dec. 12. The man had vomited in the car and on himself. He was taken to a hospital for treatment.

22A 50-year-old Shorewood woman was issued a four-year harassment injunction after harassing another Shorewood resident in part by using that person's ID in the 3900 block of North Murray Avenue at noon Dec. 12. The woman also put a dead and decaying squirrel in the victim's mailbox.

23Two Milwaukee males, 16 and 18, were arrested for theft and trespassing in the 1600 block of East Menlo Boulevard at 3:15 p.m. Dec. 13. A resident called police after seeing each walk onto private property and a short time later ride away from those properties on bicycles. One was caught in that block and the other in the 1100 block of East Capitol Drive.

WHITEFISH BAY

24Two wallets were taken from unsecured lockers in the women's locker room at the Jewish Community Center, 6255 N. Santa Monica Blvd., the afternoon of Dec. 10. Each was valued at $25.

25A resident reported Dec. 12 that he 'd been attacked in the alley behind the 400 block of East Henry Clay Street about 3:15 p.m. Dec. 10. He said a male about 5-feet 10-inches tall wearing a black hooded sweat shirt, pushed him down and kicked him three times in the ribs. No specific injuries were reported.

26A bicycle valued at $75 was taken from the Whitefish Bay Library, 5420 N. Marlborough Blvd., the afternoon of Dec. 12. It was found abandoned on a parkway in the 600 block of East Carlisle Avenue about 6 p.m. Dec. 12.

27A Federal Express package holding a laptop computer valued at $550 was taken after left at the door of an apartment in the 700 block of East Henry Clay Street about 2:30 p.m. Dec. 13.

28A 37-year-old Whitefish Bay woman was arrested for drunken driving, failure to stop for a flashing red light and driving left of center in the 5200 block of North Diversey Boulevard at 1 a.m. Dec. 15. The woman was unable to give a breath test and was taken for a blood draw.

29Eggs were splattered on two cars in the 2000 block of East Glendale Avenue on Dec. 14 or 15. No damage was reported. Police found an empty egg carton about a block away.

NORTH SHORE FIRE DEPARTMENT

Firefighters responded to 123 calls, 87 emergency medical and 36 fire/rescue, Dec. 10 to 16.

30A car was reported on fire in a driveway in the 7000 block of North Navajo Avenue, Glendale, at 4:16 p.m. Dec. 16. When firefighters arrived the car's engine was engulfed and the garage had just caught fire. Those fires were extinguished and the home checked and found safe. The car was a total loss.
