North Shore police citing drivers for seatbelt violations through May
To prevent needless deaths and serious injuries, Bayside, Fox Point and River Hills Police Departments along with law enforcement agencies from all over Wisconsin will be patrolling in greater numbers and for longer hours during the Click It or Ticket safety belt enforcement mobilization from May 18 to Sunday, May 31.
Our Click It or Ticket message is clear. If a vehicle is stopped by an officer and occupants are not wearing a safety belt, they will get a ticket whether they are driving or just a passenger. No excuses will be accepted, and people will not get a warning.
Police officials are not striving to write more tickets but to save lives and prevent injuries by getting people to buckle up voluntarily. But if voluntary compliance fails, police departments will diligently enforce the state's mandatory safety belt law.
The ultimate goal is to reduce the number of preventable traffic deaths to zero in Wisconsin. That's why police urge you to buckle up every time you get behind the wheel or ride in a vehicle. It only takes a second to buckle up and avoid a ticket - or even worse - a violent death.

Five North Shore police departments are teaming up on a new blog that provides residents with the crime prevention and safety tips, and news about community service projects and events throughout the area.

The sports season is in full swing at Nicolet High School and, if you're a prep sports fan, we've got you covered in basketball and more!
