Village approves three road projects
The Bayside Village Board tonight decided to go forward with three road projects totaling $204,359.
Some of the funding may come from not immediately replacing retired Director of Public Works Joel Hawkins. Hawkins retired earlier this month. Officials estimate a delay might save $25,706.
The projects involve resurfacing, ditch rehabilitation and sanitary sewer manhole adjustments to Regent Road from Brown Deer Road north to Fairy Chasm Road, Bay Point Road from where it begins in a cul-de-sac near the Lake Michigan bluff west to Tennyson Drive and then south on Tennyson to Fairy Chasm Road.
Construction should start in June, Pederson said.

Five North Shore police departments are teaming up on a new blog that provides residents with the crime prevention and safety tips, and news about community service projects and events throughout the area.
