Barth is an important part of Bayside team

March 20, 2013

Public Forum:

My wife, Janet, and I are planning to vote for Mike Barth in this coming election. We believe that Mike should be re-elected to the Bayside Board of Trustees. We have lived in the North Shore area most of our lives and in the village of Bayside for the past 12 years.

I have observed the changes that have taken place in Bayside over the past years and am much impressed. The administrative staff is now first class and many improvements have been implemented during Mike's tenure on the board. The following are some examples: improvement in the village's drainage system to reduce flooding during severe rain events; the innovated system of trash and recycling collection; the improvements at Ellsworth Park; plans to assist in supplying municipal water to areas that do not have an adequate water supply from its system of private wells; consolidation of the dispatch services and construction of the new dispatch center; more cooperation with the surrounding communities to improve services and lower costs.

The village budget has not increased in the past three years due to the fiscally responsible path that the Village Board has taken with Mike as the chairman of the Finance and Administration committee.

The residents of Bayside have a great team in the existing Village Board and Mike is an important member of the team. I see no benefit to the community to break up the team by not re-electing Mike to the board.

This is why Janet and I will be voting to re-elect Mike Barth.
