Barth will continue to prioritize Bayside's needs

March 6, 2013

Public Forum,

As a resident of Bayside, I endorse the re-election of Michael Barth to the Bayside board of trustees. I have had the pleasure of working with Michael on another board of trustees within the community and have witnessed his strengths. With a strong background in finance and business management, Michael has demonstrated exemplary commitment to our village as a board member over the past 10 years. Throughout his tenure, he has prioritized fiscal responsibility. As chairman of the Finance and Administration Committee, Michael has demonstrated dedication to a flatly maintained budget while preserving the quality of services.

As a current member of the Bayside board of trustees, Michael and the board continue to seek shared service relationships with neighboring communities in order to maintain or improve services coupled with cost reduction. During Michael's tenure on the board, recycling collection has increased by 50 percent and consolidated dispatch services with seven other communities has been successfully implemented. Michael recognizes the need to consolidate shared services with neighboring communities in order to maintain and/or improve village services while decreasing cost.

Collectively, we as Bayside residents are fortunate to have a board of trustees whose actions have brought local and national recognition and awards for good government and sound management in the areas of intergovernmental cooperation, budgeting, performance management and community partnership. I encourage everyone to support the re-election of Michael Barth as I believe he will continue to promote and prioritize the interests of Bayside in his continued role as trustee.
