1A 72-year-old Bayside woman was cited for disorderly conduct after she was found smoking near oxygen tanks at a senior living facility in the 9000 block of North Port Washington Road the evening of March 15. The woman, who had been warned previously that smoking is not allowed on the premises but continued to do so, was also taken for a mental evaluation.
2A 22-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested for drunken driving after being stopped for a broken tail light in the 100 block of East Fairy Chasm Road at 2:45 a.m. March 20. Her BAC was 0.16. A 22-year-old Appleton man, a passenger, was arrested for two outstanding warrants.
3A 16-year-old Brown Deer boy was arrested for possession of alcohol at Brown Deer High School, 8060 N. 60th St., at 2 p.m. Feb. 22. Some students told police the boy offered them alcohol on the school bus that morning. The boy denied that allegation but did admit mixing red wine with juice at home and drinking some on the bus and some at school.
4A 15-year-old Brown Deer boy was cited for disorderly conduct after throwing a desk in a classroom at Brown Deer High School at 7:50 a.m. March 8.
5Two 20-year-old Milwaukee women were arrested for theft at Kohl's, 9060 N. Green Bay Road, at 6 p.m. March 11. The women, one of them holding an infant, hid clothing valued at more than $190 in their purses, left the store and drove away but were stopped a few miles after their car was recognized. The items were recovered.
6A 16-year-old Brown Deer girl was arrested for obstruction after she and a 17-year-old boy were found parked in the 9100 block of North Maura Lane at 11:30 p.m. March 13. The girl told police her mother knew were she was. However, when police called her, the mother was surprised because she believed her daughter was home in bed.
7A 40-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for drunken driving, with two prior convictions, and driving while suspended after being stopped for driving without lights in the 4700 block of West Brown Deer Road at 2:30 a.m. March 15. The man admitted drinking, when asked, saying he'd had a six-pack of beer and also insisted his headlights were on but they weren't. He was taken for a blood draw.
8A 26-year-old Brown Deer man was arrested for possession of marijuana and a warrant after he called 911 to report that his girlfriend, 38 of Milwaukee, would not leave his residence in the 9100 block of North 51st Street at 8:50 a.m. March 15. When the warrant was discovered and the man was to be taken into custody, the man emptied his pockets asking police to give the items to his mother. One item was a package of cigarettes, which contained a marijuana joint.
9Twelve males and females, ages 16 to 19 from Bayside, Fox Point, Glendale, River Hills and Milwaukee were arrested for underage drinking in the 7700 block of North Boyd Way about 10 p.m. March 12. A 59-year-old Fox Point woman was cited for allowing underage drinking in her home. Police were alerted to the residence after a report of 10 to 12 cars on the street and another four or five in the drive. The teens were found in the basement along with many cases of beer. Their blood alcohol contents ranged for 0.04 to 0.17.
• A Fox Point man reported that his ID and his Social Security number were used fraudulently to file a 2010 federal income tax form in March. The fraud was discovered March 15 when the victim sent in his tax form and was told it had already been received.
10A 45-year-old Mequon woman was arrested for drunken driving and failure to stop for an emergency vehicle in the 8600 block of North Port Washington Road at 12:20 p.m. March 15. A squad car pulled in front of the woman but she drove around it and continued while being followed by the squad car with lights and sirens. When stopped, she admitted having one glass of wine at a bagel store which doesn't sell wine. She then began grinding her teeth loudly saying she always did that when she was nervous. Her BAC was 0.28.
11A 34-year-old Mequon man was arrested for drunken driving and speeding 58 mph in a 35 mph zone in the 7900 block of North Port Washington Road at 2 a.m. March 18. The man denied drinking, at first, but then said he had two beers. His BAC was 0.16.
12A 22-year-old Kiel man was arrested for driving while impaired, driving after suspension and charged with a felony crime of possession of a controlled substance, heroin, in the 7000 block of North Port Washington Road at 3 p.m. March 10. A witness had called 911 to report following a possibly drunken driver northbound on Interstate 43 exiting into Glendale. The suspect was found passed out in his car with the engine running and salvia dripping from his mouth. He later admitted using heroin saying he came to Milwaukee about two times a week and purchased the drug for $40 to $150. He was found with eight tin foil bindles of the drug and a syringe. He was taken for a blood test.
13A 25-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for drunken driving, for driving while suspended, with three prior convictions, non-registration and no insurance after being stopped for lane deviation in the 4800 block of North Port Washington Road at 1:30 a.m. March 12. His BAC was 0.15.
14A $200 pair of shoes were taken from an employee break room at Kopp's, 5373 N. Port Washington Road, the evening of March 13. The owner's car was also vandalized: a dart was found in the rag top of her car.
15A 47-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for theft by contractor the afternoon of March 15 for work he did October 2010 in the 2500 block of West Green Tree Road. The residents paid him $3,016 for a new driveway and sidewalk. In late February, they received a warning of a lien on their property from a concrete supplier that had not been paid. The suspect admitted he had failed to pay that supplier because he didn't have the money but he did intend to pay them.
16A Milwaukee man was arrested for possession of 5.1 grams of marijuana after a report of two people fighting in a room at the Baymont Inn, 5485 N. Port Washington Road, at 7:15 a.m. March 16.
17A laptop computer and six video games with a total value of $740 were taken from the 6800 block of North Green Bay Avenue mid-afternoon March 16. A garage door had been left open.
18A 17-year-old Glendale boy was mailed a citation for truancy from Nicolet High School, 6701 N. Jean Nicolet Road, at 11 a.m. March 16. The boy has missed a total of 111 days for this school year. He has not attended classes since Jan. 4 when he was also cited for truancy.
19A 26-year-old Brown Deer man was arrested for drunken driving, with a prior conviction, driving with a revoked license, no proof of insurance and speeding 62 mph in a 45 mph zone in the 3500 block of West Brown Deer Road at 12:30 a.m. March 14. His BAC was 0.14.
20A 44-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested for drunken driving, with a prior conviction in the 900 block of West Good Hope Road about 1 a.m. March 18. Her BAC was 0.14.
21A 20-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for possession of marijuana and receiving stolen property - a bicycle and laptop - from a burglary in the 4300 block of North Alpine Avenue sometime March 11. The man was stopped by Milwaukee police with the stolen items.
22A GPS unit valued at $150 was taken from a car in the 3500 block of North Frederick Avenue before 2 p.m. March 13. There was no sign of forced entry.
23A 23-year-old Shorewood woman was arrested for being party to the crime of battery and disorderly conduct in the 1800 block of East Wood Place about 5 a.m. March 14. The woman called an ex-boyfriend, 18 of Milwaukee, to come and help her because her present boyfriend, 34 of Greenfield, took her phone and wouldn't return it after she told him they were breaking up. The ex-boyfriend arrived with a 24-year-old Franklin man and a fight began. The two men, 18 and 24, were arrested for disorderly conduct and battery. No injuries were reported.
24An unsecured bicycle valued at $300 was taken from Shorewood High School, 1701 E. Capitol Drive, between 6:30 and 8 p.m. March 15.
25A 25-year-old Shorewood man was arrested for possession of 0.7 grams of marijuana and drug paraphernalia - a drug pipe and a humidor - during a traffic stop in the 2100 block of East Shorewood Boulevard at 10:30 p.m. March 15.
26A 54-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested for disorderly conduct at Citgo, 1602 E. Capitol Drive, at 12:45 p.m. March 16. The woman, who was intoxicated, entered the store and was loud and disorderly.
27A 60-year-old Bayside woman was arrested for hit and run/failure to report an accident in the 300 block of East Silver Spring Drive at 8 p.m. March 12. Two witnesses saw the driver run into a tree, swerve onto the medium and hit bricks and a power box. She stopped her car, got out, smiled and waved at the witnesses and then drove away.
28A 19-year-old Cedarburg man was arrested for absolute sobriety/drunken driving on Silver Spring and Lake drives at 3:30 p.m. March 13. The car was stopped when a passenger stood up and looked out the sun roof. That man, 20 of Milwaukee, was arrested for a seat belt violation and for underage drinking as were two other passengers, Milwaukee men, 19 and 20. The driver's BAC was 0.113.
29A 51-year-old Oak Creek man was arrested for drunken driving and reckless driving in the 100 block of East Silver Spring Drive at 11:45 a.m. March 14. He was taken for a blood draw.
30A plumbing contractor reported the theft of items valued at more than $2,000 including drills and a band saw from his unsecured van in the 100 block of West Silver Spring Drive about 12:45 p.m. March 14.
31A 17-year-old Whitefish Bay boy was to be mailed a citation for underage possession of alcohol at Whitefish Bay High School, 1200 E. Fairmount Ave., at 3:30 p.m. March 15. Alcohol was found in a backpack in his locker. He admitted it was his.
32A 47-year-old Whitefish Bay man was arrested for drunken driving and hit and run after he struck a parked car and drove off in the 5200 block of North Santa Monica Boulevard at 7:45 p.m. March 16. He stopped a few houses away and was arrested. His BAC was 0.13.
33Speakers were taken from a car parked at Dominican High School, 120 E. Silver Spring Drive, the evening of March 17. A window was broken to gain entry. No dollar amount was available for the speakers or damage.
34A 2006 Kia was taken from the 4700 block of North Marlborough Drive about 1 a.m. March 18. The theft was discovered after a neighbor reported a car had just driven over his lawn and then struck a house and a car.
35A 39-year-old Mequon man was arrested for drunken driving, hit and run, open intoxicants, driving left of center and refusal to take a breath test in the 5100 block of North Lydell Avenue at 10 p.m. March 19.
NORTH SHORE FIRE DEPARTMENT
• Firefighters responded to 124 calls, 96 emergency medical and 28 fire/rescue, March 14 to March 20.
36Units were dispatched to the smell of smoke in the 6900 block of North Lake Drive, Fox Point, at 5:45 p.m. March 14. A recessed lighting fixture had overheated causing some tiles to smolder and burn around it. Circuits were shut down and the fire extinguished. The problem was caused by using a bulb with a higher wattage than recommended. The resident was told to call an electrician.
