Glendale — A $2 million project to combine the D and F wing libraries at Nicolet High School sailed through the Plan Commission on Tuesday night, setting the stage for some major changes in the building.
Village officials won’t be closing West Green Tree Road anytime soon. Facing a federal lawsuit and growing opposition from residents, the Village Board has delayed taking any action on a controversial plan to partially close the road between River and Jean Nicolet roads.
North Shore NOW won three awards - including two for first place - in the 2009 Wisconsin Newspaper Association's Better Newspaper Contest.
Nicolet — Ellen Redeker and Joseph Kasle will advance to the spring election seeking one vacant seat on the Nicolet School Board. Member Mark Majeski did not seek re-election.
Second-grade classes in the Maple Dale-Indian Hill School District will return to Indian Hill School for the 2010-2011 school year.
Bayside — The Village Board on Thursday approved turning the former Pandl's Restaurant into a synagogue and community center.
Bayside — A public hearing on a proposal to turn the former Pandl's Restaurant into a synagogue and community center is set for 6 p.m. Wednesday before the village Plan Commission.
Bayside — The dumping of prohibited items such as garbage, tires, toys and televisions has led the village to temporarily restrict the hours of its Environmental Corridor, 201 E. Fairy Chasm Road, which is intended only for yard waste, oil and recycling materials.
West Allis will decide this week whether to cut five police officer positions, while Franklin and New Berlin each will decide whether to fill two police officer positions and one firefighter position that are vacant.
Police Chief Bruce Resnick said the Bayside Village Board was supportive but not exactly responsive when he asked for the $30,000 to $34,000 it would take to buy a surveillance camera system.
Five North Shore police departments are teaming up on a new blog that provides residents with the crime prevention and safety tips, and news about community service projects and events throughout the area.
