Army Pvt. Nathaniel Lawonn graduated from the field artillery automated tactical data systems specialist advanced individual training course at Fort Sill in Lawton, Okla. The course is designed to train members of the Army's field artillery team as specialists to operate the advanced field artillery tactical data systems for both cannon and multiple launch rocket systems. Lawonn is the son of David and Sharon Lawonn of Brown Deer.
Tom Scrivner of Mequon, a member of the Thiensville-Mequon Lions Club, was recently recognized by the Lions Eye Bank of Wisconsin in Madison for exemplary volunteer service as a transporter. For years, Scrivner has transported eye tissue to and from the Eye Bank in Madison. He was one of only five transporters recognized throughout the state this year. Lions members drive about 24,000 miles each month in Wisconsin helping to transport eye tissue around the state.
