WHS Adoptable Animals

The Wisconsin Humane Society (WHS) is a private, nonprofit organization whose mission is to build a community where people value animals and treat them with respect and kindness. For more than 128 years, WHS has been saving the lives of animals in need. We offer adoption services that place 9,000 animals in new homes annually, veterinary services that save thousands of lives, educational programs that instill respect for animals, behavior services to assist guardians and a myriad of other initiatives that help end suffering for animals. We depend entirely on private donations to fund our programs and rely on volunteers in nearly every department. $75 Kitten Fees in September!

During the month of September, all kitten adoption fees will be discounted to $75. All kittens are still spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and go home with a certificate for a free veterinary exam and 30 days of pet health insurance. Visit www.wihumane.org for more info!

Rabbit Behavior Seminar, September 14, 2010, 6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.
You will learn everything you need to know about your domestic rabbit! Don’t miss this informative program about rabbit care, behavior and training, problem solving and problem prevention. 6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.. A $10.00 fee for this seminar includes a $5.00 certificate to use in Animal Antics, the Wisconsin Humane Society retail store.


 
Kids and Companion Animals Seminar, Tuesday, September 21, 2010, 6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. 
Parents AND kids are invited to join us for a fun and informative program about being safe with our companion animals.  WHS Education Manager, Dezarae Jones-Hartwig will lead this interactive program designed to help families build healthy, safe relationships between kids and their companion animals.  Learn how dogs and cats "talk" with us, how to behave safely around animals and lots more.

Pet Food Drive @ Washington Bark Dog Day

Bring Pet Food to Washington Bark Dog Day
Washington Bark Day is collecting food for WHS at their event on Sunday at Washington Park, 45th St. and Washington Blvd, from 11:00 - 3:00 p.m. They will offer $1 off the registration fee of $6 to anyone who brings in 3 cans of cat/dog food or a bag of kitty litter. Thanks, Washington Bark!

Meet Cocoa

Princess, a 3-year-old Chihuahua at the Wisconsin Humane Society (WHS), is eagerly awaiting a new home and will likely be adopted in just a few short days. Her sister isn’t so lucky.

Cocoa and Princess were surrendered because their previous family simply did not want them anymore. Why they were so unloved is a mystery. Anybody would be lucky to have either one of these spunky, affectionate girls.

40 Puppies Join 60+ Dogs in Adoption

The Dog Days of Summer are Over... but Not at the Wisconsin Humane Society.

Today, the veterinary clinic at the Wisconsin Humane Society (WHS) will be spaying or neutering about 40 puppies and dogs, who will be ready for adoption Friday and Saturday.  They will be joining over 60 dogs currently available for adoption, and we hope to find them all homes this weekend.
