For the past couple of years, liberal bloggers have spent a lot of time pounding away at their keyboards asserting their disdain at what they believe are the untruths delivered to them by the George W. Bush administration. They call them lies. A select number of the liberal bloggers have professed their objectivity to their political leaning. If one is to take this at face value, these bloggers will be turning out blog after blog proclaiming the same from President Obama. They will be calling him a liar. And in the eyes of those who hold them to be objective, they will be correct.
The methods being used and the Democrats in Congress to pass health care reform is embarrassing at best. At its worst, it's deceit and lies. Apparently they believe Americans are very stupid. And looking at who was elected, or reelected, there's not a lot of room for argument. And that's too bad. However, the government looks at itself as being all-powerful, all-knowing, all governing. Instead of trying to dupe Americans, they should be helping them out by explaining what they are actually doing. But that would be embarrassing for them.
The Senate bill that got sent to the Congressional budget office for scoring is being revealed as a sham. The numbers that went into the scoring process are almost complete lies. The Democrats have been chanting that they want of care reform and they want it now. Yet Congress is trying to suppress the fact that they are going to be imposing 10 years of taxes for 5 1/2 years of benefits. This is supposed to help balance the budget. Well, what happens in year 11? 10 years of tax collection will only cover seven years of benefits. So in the next 10 years, 10 years of tax collection will fall short of 10 years of service delivery. Can they mandate that no one gets ill for four a half years? Maybe that's in the bill -- no one has read it.
Many of the members of Congress are too lazy to read the bill. They don't understand it. So why are they considered to be lawmakers? You ought to be able to understand what it is you're writing. It's bad enough they have absolutely no understanding of how healthcare works. Yet they want to impose the law that is going to ration health care for everyone. It's government takeover of the health care system. That's the long-term goal -- anybody who denies that is only fooling themselves.
Huge tax increases and enormous expansion of government is going to prove wrong for America. It's time to stop the progress before we get too far and things cannot be reversed. America is going down the wrong path. America is in dire need of strong leadership. We need strong leadership but have not seen it for a generation. For at least a couple centuries, people used to want a better world left those who will be here after we are gone. But this type of thinking and did with the last generation. America's best days are behind her. Will the subsequent elections bring better change? We can only be hopeful, yet be prepared for it being doubtful. The elected officials will only act in their own self-interest. They are not helping their constituency or listening to their constituency. It's time again to be looking for change.
