ELECTION STATEMENTS

There were many complaints expressed against new Governor Scott Walker's sudden, draconian actions that were not mentioned in his campaign.  Some will argue that he gave hints; but not about the most drastic actions.  The entire nation was caught by surprise.  And lies, distortions, and camouflage were rampant.

Some took some demonstrating walks around the Capitol.  Some carried signs.  Some chanted.  Some yelled.  Some slept over.  It was all done amazingly and relatively peacefully.  But so far it has not changed one vote.  Your chance comes Tuesday.

There are no perfect candidates running, there never is.  Our political system is over-run by mediocrity and political extremism.  Let us hope that the people can express themselves in large percentages Tuesday.

A higher percentage of right-wing and conservative voters turn out in elections.  One reason for that is conservatives are far more ideological in their parochial opinions.  They HATE to be proven wrong and have a harder time dealing with that.  Democrats are historically disjointed and lax about voting.  Tuesday we shall see if there is enough gumption, enough spirit, enough resolve, and enough unity among Democrats to come out and vote.  I'm skeptical.  But some thngs need correcting ASAP.

In fact the mess we are in internationally, nationally, and statewide have been in large measure caused by Democratic laziness and lack of voting responsibility.  As you found out recently, criticizing Governor Walker AFTER the election is very difficult to change, demostrations not withstanding.

I don't like any of the candidates in Tuesday's election.  But by comparison, it becomes an easy decision.

If you haven't already done so, sign the petition to recall State Senator Alberta Darling.  She should have been defeated long ago.  But this recall has added importance.

For the Wisconsin Supreme Court, JoAnne Kloppenburg is an easy choice when compared to the very political, offensive, and lacking in objectivity, David Prosser.  Vote Kloppenburg.

Milwaukee County Executive choice: Chris Abele.  That choice should be easy.  Jeff Stone is a mirror image of Walker [who as County Exec. left a mess of his own making].  Walker's phone call with a man he thought was one of the Koch brothers was so offensive and criminal that it should have Walker in jail, but Stone wants to mimic him].

Put your vote where your mouth is!  Will this be another election that the progressives just sit out?

You should not only vote, you should be eager to vote.  I'm skeptical.  Prove me wrong.
